A Walk for Education
NSBE, BGPSA, and NAACP went out into the community informing people on various opportunities in education. Also we listened to various concerns of the people in the East Knoxville Area. Afterwards there was a cookout where people from the community and participants gathered. Good food and talk was served! All participants received a free T-Shirt.
OCT 25 Sunday Spiritual Revival
NSBE met this day to refill spiritual and physical bodies. In the morning a group of students left campus to go to church together at Mount Olive Baptist Church. Afterward a feast was prepared for the campus to come enjoy. Chicken, green beans, corn, potatoes, rolls, punch, and a cake was served. A large number stopped by to eat and to watch the movie showing Slumdog Millionaire.
OCT 26 Monday Business Opportunities

Eastman company representative came to talk about the company and various internship opportunities. The speaker emphasized keeping up a good GPA and that companies seek out students involved in NSBE. Eastman Company presented NSBE with a $500 dollar check after the meeting! They also had a scholarship opportunity for sophomores in engineering (contact for more information). Food was provided.
OCT 28 Wednesday Always Willing to Learn
The Leadership guides lead us in an active program on finding out what’s your learning style. The different learning styles included Audio, Visual, and Kinetic. Various games were played to explore the different learning styles. It was fun and eye opening to ways which we work with different learning styles day to day.
OCT 29 Thursday
Engineers Day
Game Night with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity began at the BCC with an active participation in Guitar Hero/Rock band. As more people arrived spades, uno, and dominos became active. The chess tournament was especially active as expert players dueled. Snacks were served.
OCT 30 Friday Scary Movie Night with MAP began at clement Basement watching Saw V. Many were in attendance as Map and NSBE members gathered together to enjoy this gripping movie. Several screams and laughs were heard through out the movie from the audience. Over all it was a great environment for fellowship. Snacks were served.
